The Rainbow 3D® camera was the original invention of Genex Technologies, taking advantage of Genex’s innovative usage of structured light to capture accurate, full-frame 3D data very quickly. Genex has now leveraged advances from the 3D FaceCam™ system to improve the Rainbow 3D. These improvements include speeding up the 3D capture time to be less than half a second while improving performance under varying lighting conditions.
The standard Rainbow 3D camera captures over 300,000 data points (640 by 480 pixels) at once, but Genex offers an upgraded system using a megapixel sensor as an option for customers. Genex offers four configurations of the Rainbow 3D camera, each with a differing field of view and level of accuracy. Configurations are available for 250 micron, 100 micron, 50 micron, and 25 micron accuracy.
Data can be output to a variety of formats (such as STL, OBJ, DXF, CAD, IGS, and WRL) that are compatible with leading 3D software such as 3DS Max, AutoCAD, Raindrop Geomagic, and Innovmetric Polyworks.
