Imagine seeing your face up on the big screen or in an interactive video game. When someone chases you on screen, this would be a lot more personal, wouldn't it? Genex is working to partner with entertainment and gaming companies who have the vision of a personal, interactive experience. Movies, games, and amusement rides are growing in realism every day, but one thing missing is a highly detailed character that looks just like the viewer.
Current methods used in entertainment for personalizing a character's face are primarily based on 2D photographs. As technology in areas such as home video games and displays continues to advance, the dissimilarity of a photograph plastered onto a generic face model will become increasingly visible and obvious.
Genex offers several technologies that enable greater realism in a personalized avatar or hologram. The 3D FaceCam system can accurately capture 3D data for a face to create a custom 3D model. The 3D FaceMap software solution, originally developed for facial recognition applications, enables a highly realistic 2D-to-3D conversion of a face.
With Genex's 3D SketchArtist technology, users can also create an original 3D face with simple sketching tools or modify their own 3D face. 3D SketchArtist includes both easy morphing tools and a large library of pre-set facial features, hair, tattoos, hats, sunglasses, and other features - all in true 3D.
Once the unique 3D face has been generated with our technology, the potential applications are only limited by the imagination. For example, a user could carry a digital card with his unique facial data between rides at an amusement park. A customer could create a personalized instant messaging or mobile phone personality. Using our morphing technology, a user could alter facial characteristics to match the environment of a particular game or movie.
