Genex continually performs advanced research in numerous areas of imaging. Due to the sensitive nature of some of this research, the brief outlines below do not represent all of our on-going research efforts. To learn more about the cutting-edge research we perform, please contact Genex directly.
3D Imaging Projects
Innovative 3D Capture Methods We perform on-going research to advance the state-of-the-art in 3D data capture. Our research includes investigation in the latest sensor technologies,, configurations, modalities, and processing techniques. Recent advances include the 3D FaceCamT, a recent technical breakthrough that has resulted in an over five-fold speed improvement in capture time and almost fully automated data cleaning.
Tomography We are investigating the combination of tomography and 3D capture techniques to achieve new types of pre-cancer detection for medical research.
Intelligent Surveillance
360-Degree Viewing Our OmniEye product line is an on-going effort to advance the state-of-the-art in wide-field-of-view surveillance. Recent advances include the Cerberus multi-sensor platform, with completely modular sensor configuration and seaming on remote, unmanned platforms of all types.
Detection Algorithms Our research into new target detection and tracking methods has resulted in innovative approaches to the most difficult detection problems such as motion detection, object tracking, and object classification even from a moving platform.
Enhancement Algorithms We continue to research powerful new ways to process video data to resolve difficult problems such as noise, low-light situations, or unstable camera movement.
3D Facial Recognition
Advanced Recognition Methods Our on-going effort to advance the state-of-the-art in facial recognition has resulted in recent advances, including the 3D FaceMap and 3D Enroll software systems, which can enhance existing 2D recognition systems with 3D data.
Aging This effort involves the study of how humans age, and its effect upon facial recognition systems.
3D Display
Next-Generation 3D Display Methods This research effort is focused on developing improved 3D display systems, with greater color fidelity and resolution. Recent advances include an over 10-fold increase in pixel count and greater color contrast.
High-Speed Sensor Processing
High-Speed Processing Systems and Architecture We continue to push the envelope in our research to achieve increased processing speed in smaller form factors for various portable applications such as medicine, scientific research, and military.
