Genex Technologies' innovative 3D facial recognition solutions featured on PBS' Nightly Business Report.
Genex Technologies' exciting developments in 3D facial recognition were highlighted in a feature story discussing the impact of terrorism on new technologies in biometrics. Darren Gersch, Washington Bureau Chief of the Nightly Business Report, interviewed Genex's Vice President of Government Solutions, David Tunnell, to discuss Genex's newly developed 3D facial recognition solutions. By applying a third dimension to traditional facial recognition solutions, Genex is able to dramatically improve the performance of this biometric when faced with challenges involving lighting conditions and the pose of the subject's face. With these cutting-edge developments and the growing value of this technology in fighting terrorism and criminal activity, Mr. Gersch stated, "The business of facial recognition is expected to grow more than six fold, from $57 million to more than $400 million." The story also delved into some of the concerns raised by privacy advocates with regard to this technology. Click here for the full transcript of this story (requires PDF reader).
